Cutting-edge technology from Ulm

SAFETY – EFFICIENCY – FLEXIBILITY
WITH THE PATENTED ROLL PUMP TECHNOLOGY

Ulrich medical’s contrast media injectors have already been successfully used for more than 30 years in radiology practices and hospitals. They offer users unique solutions which are only available from ulrich medical®. Their user-friendly handling, superior “Made in Germany” quality and proven hygiene safety make these products indispensable in everyday practice.

The patented roll pump technology allows direct injection from all standard media containers, reduces costs for disposables and enables fast patient changeovers for a high patient throughput. All this leads to a smooth and time-saving examination for an optimized workflow.

+ Patented roll pump technology

+ Direct injection from all standard media containers

+ Variable bottle guide from 50 mL to 1000 mL

+ Automatic patient-side air monitoring

+ Tandem function for selection of a second contrast medium in the case of two different contrast media

+ Seamless function for alternating switching to full contrast media containers when two identical contrast media are used

CT motion™

The contrast media injector CT motion combines existing well-proven functions and safety features with multiple innovations.

SAFE AND EASY – THE PARTICULAR TUBING SYSTEM

Preparing the injector has never been easier. CTmotion needs to be prepared only once a day. It is then ready to use for up to 24 hours and any number of injections. In addition, the pump tubing is not only threaded automatically onto the roller pump, but also vented due to the automatic patient-side air monitoring. An innovation designed to maximize comfort and safety.

PIVOTING CONTAINER GUIDANCE

The pivoting container guidance ensures a horizontal and thus clean exchange of the contrast media without leaking.

INTEGRATED HEATING

The integrated heat retainer optimizes the patient’s comfort and decreases the viscosity of the contrast medium (optional).

USER INTERFACE

The user interface including the display unit on the injector allows a simple, safe and quick operation.

MODERN SCREEN

The modern screen with its real-time display allows a quick and intuitive injection together with a thorough monitoring.

7 SENSORS FOR YOUR SAFETY

A further guarantee for a quick and safe injection are three media detectors, which observe the media supply and confirm it with colored LEDs.

An ultrasonic air detector just after the roll pump detects fine air bubbles in the pump tubing. A smart technology that makes safe contrast injections even more reliable.

Two pressure senors are fitted downstream of the roll pump and air detector which monitor pressure conditions in the tubing system. They enable the “Automatic Pressure Control” of the injector and hence a continuation of the injection.

Another ultrasonic air detector above the drip cup detects fine air bubbles in the patient tubing, displays the status with a lit LED and thus simplifies the workflow.

TWO-PIECE TUBING SYSTEM

The tubing system consists of pump tubing and patient tubing. The pump tubing is part of the roller pump system and the maximum time of usage are 24 hours. The patient tubing has a patient-side Luer lock connector and has to be changed after each patient.

RIS/PACS

ulrich medical RIS/PACS Interface

SEE BEYOND INJECTION.

The ulrich medical® RIS/PACS interface enables the CT motion contrast media injector from ulrich medical® to be integrated easily and comprehensively into RIS and PACS systems using the DICOM standard.

Properties

Transfer of the DICOM worklist from the RIS using the DICOM Modality Worklist Management SOP-Class.

Combines patient information from the RIS with contrast injection parameters

Intuitive workflow on the CT motion user interface for the easy and fast acquisition of all injection data, e.g. volume, type of contrast media, concentration, expiry date, batch number, eGFR value/date, patient weight and size, cannula size, operator ID as well as the graphic display of flow rate/pressure during the injection time

Automatic sending of a comprehensive “CM DOSE REPORT” as a DICOM-SC store to PACS and/or Dose Management systems
DICOMSC

Customer benefits

Comprehensive documentation of the contrast media injection

Simple and standardized documentation of the contrast media injection using the DICOM standard

Reduction of error sources during data acquisition by means of standardized data transfer

Automatic documentation of the contrast media injection in PACS and/or Dose Management Systems in connection with the patient data from the RIS

Fast availability of the contrast media documentation

Injection history available for the last 500 injections (on touch terminal)

SYNCopen

SYNCopen™

CONTRAST MEDIA INJECTOR INTERFACE WITH CT SCANNER

The ulrich medical® SYNCopen interface is an interface between the contrast media injector and CT scanners. It is based on the international standard CANopen. Using the interface, data can be exchanged between the injector and the CT scanner. Siemens uses the term “Care Contrast” for the CT interface. Along with the synchronous start/stop of the devices, injection parameters can be transmitted from the injector to the CT and then on to an RIS/PACS or dose management software. Starting with CARE Contrast III, it is possible to create and manage injector protocols on the CT console. Experience has shown that time savings of up to 30 % can be achieved with SYNCopen.

Precise and fast contrast scans with a single click

Based on the international standard CANopen
Synchronous start/stop of injector and CT scanner
Generation and display of injector protocols on the CT scanner
Transfer of injection parameters to the RIS/PACS system
Data exchange between injector and CT scanner

Customer benefits
  • Time savings of up to 30 %
  • Improved workflow through single button start
  • Quality assurance through the automatic transmission of injection parameters to RIS/PACS or dose management systems
  • Higher image quality through the synchronous start
  • One-time entry of injection protocols saves time and administrative work

Software Options

SOFTWARE OPTIONS

Software options can be individually compiled for your device and therefore, provide more comfort in operation.

Tandem: Injector can be connected to two different CA types
→ Access to either of the two contrast agents is possible without interruption of daily workflow, hence focus on patient and economy of use

CA substitution: Manual switchover from contrast agent to NaCl during injection
→ Economic use of contrast agent and gentle treatment for the patient

Same patient: Multiple examinations on one patient without changing the patient hose
→ No loss of time by disconnecting the patient

Elapsed time: Time display which indicated the elapsed time after the end of injection
→ Supports specific examinations with delayed scan

Stop watch: Acoustic signal when set time has expired
→ Improved timing between contrast agent injection and examination

Start delay: Injection only starts after a predefined time
→ Easy start of injection on the time

Contrast agent heater: constant temperature of the contrast agent (28 °C – 37 °C)
→ Optimal viscosity of the contrast agent for infusion

Mounting

MOUNTNG

Pivoting ceiling and wall mount version

CT motion is available as a mobile pedestal version, as a pivoting ceiling version or as a version with wall mount.

Advantages:
  • Space saving
  • Wireless installation
  • Simple cleaning of the floor
  • The wall mount version provides the possibility to install the CT motion even if the room height is too low for the pivoting ceiling version and offers a cost-effective alternative.
